Use Your Voice Vibration to Balance Energies in Your Body
In today’s practice we chant and sing.
Each word carries a vibrational energy signature. When we vibrate positive sound in our bodies we impact our bodies in a very positive way on a physical level, as well as emotional, psychological, and spiritual levels.
Mantras are used in meditations for exactly that reason. When we sound them we create vibration in the body. The chanted repetitively can bring a deep meditative state, with a powerful healing vibrational quality.
Sanskrit is an ancient language from India said to originate from the meditations of ancient sages and is considered divine and very powerful when chanted.
By chanting mantras over and over we bypass our constant mental dialogue, cutting through the mental chatter to the quality the mantra is targeted to enhance or clarify, such as compassion, healing, intelligence, power, protection, etc. This is the aim of chakra meditation as well as Buddhist chanting, Hindu chants and participation in Kirtan and all spiritual chanting and singing.
Today we explore an ancient mantra, Om Mani Padma Hum. This mantra originated in India, and crossed over to Tibet long ago. Chanting this mantra invokes blessings from the Buddha of Compassion, Chenrezig. For more background, meaning and pronunciation, visit:
