Inner World of Yoga – Day 22
What we’ve learned so far about healing and transformation:
- discomfort, pain, suffering, anxiety, conflict, negative emotions, fears, e.g. anything that is not joy means something needs to be seen and addressed
- to see something means we already have within us a solution to an issue and getting unstuck
- body~mind~spirit is one entity and holds all the answers we need, we just need to unlock them
- growth and healing do not happen by accident, and we must be fundamentally involved in our own process
- the eight limbs of yoga are a roadmap to healing and growth, providing universal truths, practices, and guideposts
- self-perception can make us or break us – faith is essential and develops by staying with awareness of our condition
- mind has 4 responses: 3 are forms of escape, and only 1 is in the moment and sees reality
- there is a methodology and process for personal growth. Growth Process Formula:
desire + intent + teachings + practices = rise of inner knowing and growth
Today’s practice has two parts.
Part One: Contemplate the above points, and answer the questions below, writing down what you see within yourself; feelings, impressions, memories, connections, and thoughts. Just write what you feel – do not self-edit by analyzing or applying concepts to what you see.
- What burdens do you feel you hold within your physical body? Pain, weight, lethargy, hyperactivity, guilt, shyness, fear, remorse, negative emotions, etc.
- What is the predominant “mind-movie” that inhibits your forward momentum?
- Which negative emotions in your relationships, including relationship with yourself, cause the most suffering for you?
Part Two: Write down three questions you have about the process of body~mind~spirit in relation to wellness, healing and transformation, and the issue to which you most desire an answer/solution at this point in your life.
Tomorrow we will look more deeply into the operating structure of the mind, ego, beliefs and growth.
Namaste! Wendy
