Living in Awareness – Day 4
To make my point, I want to reference something that usually happens or occurs. Normally, the mind will throw out a thought, and before you know it, you are traveling wherever that thought is leading. That thought may be rehashing something that was not pleasant, and before you realize it, you are right there with it, going through those old emotions all over again. Or, the thought may be projecting about a future event, one that you are not looking forward to or dreading, and before you know it, you are consumed with fear, anger or sadness. In either of those situations, the mind is the puppet master, and it has you dancing a gig. In either of those situations, the mind is robbing you of this moment. In either of those situations, you are not being present with what is right in front of you.
There is a flip side to psychological time, a more ‘positive side’ to psychological time. I am a big fan of visualizing or focusing on the things that I want in my life, of visualizing or focusing on the desires of my life. When it is done consciously, intentionally, and purposefully, you can use psychological time to plant the seeds for your desires. I use psychological time to fine tune those aspirations, and dreams. I will often create upcoming scenes in my head to hone a situation, to test the waters, and to come up with solutions. Yes, I understand the creative ability of thought, and I use it with as much Awareness as possible. I use psychological time with Awareness, and I am the master of my own mind.
