Mind/Body Weight Loss – Day 22
Your Purpose Can Shift
As with everything in life, your purpose is dynamic and impermanent. Your purpose can shift in your life as you change and develop. For example, if your purpose is to raise your children to be highly functional adults, when they grow up, you will need to find a new sense of purpose at that time. We have seen as people retire, they lose that sense of purpose and find themselves wondering aimlessly through their senior years. Those that find new interest and meaning after retirement have better health outcomes than those who are just waiting to die. So don’t get too attached to your purpose, but instead continue to grow yourself.
Purpose and Weight Loss
In order to make enduring changes, the changes have to come from a place joy. I don’t want you to eat well and get exercise because you have to, but because you see it as an expression of your spirit. As you move towards wholeness, awareness and balance you will get to know who is at your essence. As the fear, cravings and limiting core beliefs fall away; you will be able to better understand what it means to nourish yourself – mind, body and soul. It won’t be something you should do, rather something you want to do.
Your Challenge:
Do an internal inventory and ask yourself the following questions:
1. Think of a time when you were most proud of yourself and contemplate why and what you were doing?
2. Think of a time in your life when you were the most happy? What contributed to your happiness? What has changed since then?
