Mind/Body Weight Loss – Day 24

Mind/Body Weight Loss Day 24

 Week 4 Opening the Heart

Moving from Sacrifice to Preference Something interesting happens in the mind when we are told we can’t have something, which is one of the reasons diets don’t work.  We need to feel like we have everything available to us and you do.  So what is stopping you from eating that pint of ice cream or the entire bag of chips?  I hope by now that answer to that question isn’t guilt.  I hope you are starting to want to put healthier things in you body because you those choices are becoming preferences instead of a sacrifice.

If you are still struggling with cravings, using gratitude can be a great way to re-cognize healthy choices.

Your Challenge:

This technique is adapted from Jerry and Esther Hick Rampage of Appreciation.  Sometime today when you have an urge for something, whether it is a food or a behavior that you know is out of alignment with where you want to be, I want you to you consciously and purposefully make a healthier choice.  Before you engage in eating or taking action on a healthier behavior, I want you to be thankful for it.  Be thankful for the health benefits, the energetic benefits, and the spiritual benefits.  I want you to think about every aspect of the healthier choice and I want you to hold it in your heart and be grateful.  Once you have exhausted all the reasons to be grateful for that choice,  I want you to expand your gratitude to include everything in your life that is worthy of appreciation.  I want you to think of things big and small, from your kids to your job to the paint color on your living room wall that you love.  Do this exercise for a few minutes and then contemplate how that shifted your mood and thoughts.
