Rosanna Arquette – Up Close and Personal
On Being Vegetarian: “I have truthfully been vegetarian on and off for many years. I have to say, as I’ve gotten older I do sometimes eat fish; and I’m surrounded by meat eaters. But I was way more militant about eating animals when I was younger. I now feel that on occasion I may have a bite here and there. A Chinese doctor said that I really need meat. It’s hard for me but I do feel better having some eggs once in awhile. I don’t judge people, just myself I feel guilty. But I always bless what I’m eating and try to stay 90 percent vegan.”
On Her Sister: Patricia Arquette made the documentary film “Finding Deborah Winger”. Rosanna directed it saying she was surpassed by the fact that Debra Winger left the profession in her 30s after so much acclaim in her work. It was screened as one of the “out-of-competition” films at the Cannes Film Festival, May 2002.
In the documentary, Rosanna informally interviews several contrasting actresses about how they cope with being a woman in the entertainment industry. They talk about the pretentiousness and stereotyping of female characters in American film today. Interviews include those with Alley Sheedy, Martha Plimpton, Debra Winger, Emmanuelle Béart, and Rosanna’s sister Patricia Arquette, among others.
Rosanna loves her family and siblings and they have a closeness and spiritual bond that is unbreakable.
Rosanna was filming in Ohio and has several projects in the fire, but that’s Rosanna for you. She wouldn’t have it any other way as she tries to balance it all, explaining that she is only human and tries her best.
