Simple Steps to Improve Your Life Day 23

Happiness 

We are often taught that we need to put off our happiness for later. It is something that comes after I have enough this, after the kids do that, after whatever reason we decide to believe. Here’s the good news.  Happiness is not a destination. It is a lifestyle choice and it can be each of ours if we so choose.

No matter what state your life is in right now, you can make that choice. Here’s how to start.

 

The Practice:

Write down what makes you happy.

Make the list as long as possible. It may take a little while for you to allow yourself to let it bubble up to the surface of your consciousness.

 

The Benefit:

See Also

Making this list once is good. What if you were to do this practice every day for a week or a month? You would be shifting your attention to thinking more about what makes you happy than what is wrong with your life. And, energy flows where attention goes.

After making that list, see what you can do to begin incorporating more of what makes you happy daily.
