The ABC’s of Actively Being Conscious – Day 7
“From this perspective, we can better understand why creative people report more psychic experiences. … Most people who believe in psychic phenomena are not ignorant or mentally deficient. They just see farther into the depths of the world than other people do.”
~ Dean Radin, Entangled Minds This underscores the idea that highly creative and intuitive people have greater access to more of what the world presents.
Expanded Perception
So if we want to be creative and intuitive, it behooves us to perceive outside the proverbial box.
You can actually choose to lower your latent inhibition and thus expand your levels of perception and creativity. All it takes is intention and practice.
And this is where the idea of Eagle Eyes comes in.
Eagles fly high above ground. They have a bird’s eye view. And even though they may be looking at one particular area, they’re ever alert to anything at all that might move or otherwise catch their attention.
A super easy and fun way to practice expanding your perception is this:
- Choose an object in your vicinity.
- Look at it. Now soften your vision so you’re gently gazing at it.
- Notice, while leaving your eyes there, all the other phenomena in your peripheral vision.
- Allow your attention to focus on them even as your eyes remain gently focused on the initial object.
You can do this with all your senses. While holding mainly on one particular item (sound, sensation, etc.) allow your attention to roam, noticing even more with that same sense.
