Your Conscious, Friendly Mind – Day 30
These are personal questions each sincere seeker must ask and examine in his or her own heart. Our compassion has to be active. We are part of the whole. What wealth, what light and joy and well being that we garner in life, we are meant to share.
We naturally share from our being, one-to-one, every day as we move through our lives. But we also search for some way to give back to the larger whole that has been so gracious and generous to us. We share our outer as well as our inner treasure to alleviate some of the suffering in the world if we ourselves are to be truly whole.
That is not to say that we all need to become teachers or claim in any way to be a master or a guru. There are so many masters in the world. Everywhere you look, in every field you find a master of this, master of that, a guru of this, a guru of that. There is such a rush for it, a stampede to put oneself forward as one with all the answers, as one who has made it.
Where are the disciples? Where are the disciplined human beings? It is so much harder to be a disciple, an authentically humble servant of God, than it is to claim to be a master or a guru. What the world needs today is not more teachers, not more masters, but more humble servants of the Divine and of humanity.
