Your Conscious, Friendly Mind – Day 5
Your Conscious, Friendly Mind Day 5
Faith in the Self Can Move Mountains
Awaken the self-management part of the mind. Self-management means we never, ever allow the mind to droop. If we do, negativity gains momentum and sends the mind into a downward spiral. We need always to be alert and awake, open and watchful of the thoughts of the mind, observing how the mind plays and where it goes of its own accord.
Usually we are not alert and do not notice when the negative self-talk starts to play. It is only when we are in the abyss that we begin to realize it. Then it is very difficult to pull back, to reverse direction.
Through Self-management we learn to be watchful and vigilant. We are keen to know what the mind is saying, where it is leading. We do not allow the mind to become depressed, or get sucked into the world of low self-esteem and frustrations.
As we steadily practice mindfulness, prayerfulness, and consciousness, the mind begins to stabilize. This strength and focus of mind does not happen automatically or by accident. As we learn the art of Self-management we begin to witness the most powerful miracle of all; through effort, determination, practice and Self-awareness, Divine grace dawns. Then it is Divine grace, it is Divine love that manifests as the conscious awareness of Self.
1. Whenever you notice yourself falling into self-criticism, catch yourself. Befriend yourself. Remind yourself that to fall in your own self-esteem is to fall into an abyss. You are on a journey home to your true Spirit within. The vehicle of your mind naturally veers off course from time to time. You notice when it is leaving the highway, when it is taking you on a detour by falling into negativity. You simply make an adjustment by steering your mind back to the highway of your Self within.
