Your Conscious Friendly, Mind Day 7
Day 7: Thought Attacks: Is the Mind Warring With Itself?
When we are sandwiched between the emotionally painful past and the frightfully negative future, present moments are lost in the mist and fog of unconsciousness. Negative thoughts crowd the mind, creating a “thought attack.”
Whenever we face a major problem, or a deep emotional issue, if we are not very conscious and aware, many thoughts, different emotional feelings, and negative brooding will overwhelm the mind. Gripped by these negative emotions, there will be many voices inside our mind talking together at random creating chaos and disorder.
An unconscious mind is split mind. When we continuously practice negative thoughts, we are basically at war with ourselves. We are fighting with the self within. We drain our own energy.
But there is positive news: all these experiences pave the way for us to enter the world of light and divine grace. When we earnestly pray for help, the Universal Intelligence, the divine grace descends, inspiring us with faith, trust and self-confidence. A new horizon opens up. In the place of disintegration and degeneration comes the fresh breeze of integration and regeneration. Hope and aspirations light up the heart. Our thoughts and emotions become steps towards higher elevation and self-transformation.
1. Take a few moments several times each day to keenly observe your thoughts. Are things going well? What are you saying to yourself? Notice the energy, the feelings, the attitudes, the sense of possibility or lack of possibility that your thoughts stimulate and reinforce. Notice the conclusions you draw, the actions that your pattern of thinking promotes. Then ask yourself, “Is this leading me where I really want to go?” If it is, offer gratitude to God for the grace in that. If it is not, do not condemn or belittle yourself.
