Are We Still Paying Interest On Old, Emotional Debts?
We all have a natural tendency to remember the unpleasant episodes of the past. Though the past is over, the memory lives on and can cause ongoing pain if we let it. A sage once said, “In your past whatever debts you owed you paid off at the time they happened.” When we still regret, we are paying interest on a debt long paid off!!
Positive power is within us. Negative power is within us as well. What we accept is up to us. There is no satisfaction in finding anybody else responsible for the miseries of life. That only increases the burden of misery. The more we resist and react to what has come to us, the more it persists, lingers, and increases.
Fear and tension about the future rob the present moment. If we trust in the Divine power of protection and benevolence, then why should we think about negative possibilities? The present brings negative situations and positive possibilities. The wise pick the positive and make the best use of the time at hand with a sense of humor, creating a brighter future. Others pick the negative and create a mess around it! What is your choice; what will you gift yourself in this moment?
1. Greet the morning with a smile. Tell yourself: I am blessed to see this beautiful morning, which is fresh and new. I come to this present moment only to greet its freshness in my body and mind. I am grateful to Mother Nature for healing me, for renewing and releasing all that is old in my body and mind. I am healthy. I know success will greet me as I move from moment to moment during the course of the day, anchored in the joy of my spirit. The joy within my spirit will touch everyone I meet today, adding to his or her love and peace. I feel peace in my body, in my mind, and in everything around me. All is well.
