Anodea Judith – The Global Heart Awakens
On the more personal level, Anodea Judith is a dynamic individual with many talents: teacher, healer, writer, priestess, musician, artist, yogini, and co-heart. She is well-loved for her integration of mind, body, and spirit, shoring up the inequalities between masculine and feminine, and her dream of co-creating Heaven on Earth. She feels deeply concerned about the state of our world, in terms of ecology, ethics, politics, and religion. Feeling that individual and cultural transformation are intrinsically related, Anodea supports a path to empowerment and balance through teaching life-affirming paths of wisdom. This is achieved through reclaiming our bodies, the environment, and our connection to the divine.
You talk about how humanity is going through a rite of passage from cultural adolescence into our planetary adulthood. What do you mean by that?
We have some pretty serious challenges facing us at this time—challenges that are global in scale: climate change, environmental degradation, resource depletion, economic disparities, poverty, terrorism, disease, overpopulation combined with shortages of food, water, and oil. These issues are evolutionary drivers, forcing us to change how we live on this planet. Facing and solving these challenges is an initiation that requires humanity to “grow up” from its current adolescent stage of living for the moment, using up whatever we have, being primarily concerned with our own individual well-being, into a state of maturity, where we preserve what we have, clean up after ourselves, care about the welfare of others, and plan for the future. This is a new stage for humanity—one we have never been to before. It requires not only a change in values, but also a change in organizing principles.
