Fabrizio Mancini – The Power of Self-Healing
Does food help a lot to help us have a good mental state?
Honestly, I see food like the fuel of the body. I can good fuel or bad fuel. If I want to drive a Ferrari, I have to put in the best fuel possible. And the best fuel we are seeing today is more vegetables and fruits and also removing a bit of fat and sugar which are the things that are not letting our car work the best.
What role does our emotional state play in our well-being?
Honestly, the emotional state – and any professional athlete can tell you – is what differentiates one athlete from another. Most athletes are physically in good shape, but the emotional state is what says whether that athlete believes that they can do something extraordinary or not. For example, if you think, “I’m going to be the best basketball player in the world”, there are people who will say, “No, you’re not”, “You’re not that tall” or “You don’t have the appropriate genes “, or whatever. You have to believe in yourself because it is very important to have a healthy life. Also, believing in yourself is what helps the body to heal naturally.
What is the difference between chiropractic care and traditional medicine?
I studied chiropractic medicine and not traditional medicine because I found that chiropractic medicine looks for the root of the problem and doesn’t just manage the symptoms of the problem. Traditional medicine sometimes does a good job in managing the symptoms. For example, an athlete who wants to play and but is in pain is given a shot, but if the body does not recognize that there is a problem that athlete can make a move during the game which the body does not recognize and there will be mayor wounds. That makes it so that the athlete cannot play for two or three weeks and that’s not very good. So, the first thing is to find the cause. In chiropractic care what we do is look for the cause in the nervous system because all the pains travel through the nerves. You can’t have pain if there is no irritation in the nerve. The spine is what gets irritated the most because it is flexible and that’s where the nerves go out to the rest of the body. So if for some reason your hips or your back hurt, that means that there may be a subluxation in the lower back, that the vertebrae has come out of alignment, or that the muscles are too tight or ligaments have become very rigid. The chiropractor evaluates it, and with a gentle movement they make it so that there’s flexibility and movement again. This makes the inflammation in that area travel out through the rest of your body and takes away the pain naturally. The difference is that you didn’t kill the pain with medicine, but that the cause was taken care of and that makes it so that the athlete can play much better.
