Why do you believe that we sometimes don’t consider the chiropractor for our illnesses and pains?
We are used to seeing traditional medicine in a hospital. It’s only until now that chiropractors are beginning to practice in hospitals. We are licensed in all states and are recognized as primary doctors – that means that anyone can come to a chiropractor without being referred by a medical doctor. The reason I do not think people consider chiropractic care first is because they typically do not see chiropractors in hospitals or public universities, and chiropractic studies are private. There are no chiropractic schools in public universities.
What is the importance of choosing a good backpack for our children?
Over 80% of Americans currently suffer or will suffer from problems lower back problems. That’s what we’re trying to prevent. A backpack is an investment, because you can spend more at first but then you can avoid many visits to doctors and costs to emergency rooms. You’ll avoid your child telling you that they can’t move their neck or “Oh Mommy, my shoulder really hurts” or “I have a lot of pain and I cannot go to school”.
How can we choose the best backpack for our children?
The books have become so thick and so fat they are very heavy, but the statistic is that one must load a backpack to only 5 to 10% of our weight. That means that if we have a 100-pound child, we can only put 5-10 pounds in the backpack. The backpack that we use has to have two thick straps which support the neck. You must also have support for the waist and back. Do not buy a backpack that’s too big for the child’s height because sometimes we think that the bigger the backpack is, the more books that are going to fit. That would not be the best for the child. When one gets a backpack it must be 2 inches below the shoulder and only drop a maximum of 4 inches below the waist. A healthy choice is to buy a backpack with wheels because it takes all the weight off the shoulders, hip and spine.
