Healthy Dream Cruise
An Epic Step Toward Holistic Self-Empowerment
by Lois Grasso
Some people think it’s selfish to follow their own dreams. Sometimes we are so conditioned to do what seems practical, we don’t even know what our dreams are.
However, many holistic health experts contend that when we follow our own authentically passionate dreams, we end up serving others whole improving our own health and happiness.
In 2010, for example, I wanted to travel more. After decades of scoffing at cruise vacations as stuffy, formal and restrictively boring, it was my only affordable option, so I “caved”. How could I have been so wrong? Delighted by the 4-star-hotel-quality service, daily upscale cuisine, nightly shows, dancing to live bands, water slides and more… well, let’s just say all preconceived notions were purely cleansed from my being.
In fact, I almost enjoyed being on the ship more than the beautiful islands we visited. Knowing you can never getting stuck paying a big restaurant bill after a mediocre meal is a rare and beautiful stress-buster! Steven and I also loved being able to venture-off alone for our own adventures on the ship, without getting lost, and still have a great vacation together.
All I wanted for was more playmates with whom to enjoy the karaoke, sushi bar and night clubs, in which Steven had no interest. My imagination kicked in about mid-week, and by the time we got home, my entrepreneurial spirit was filled with inspiration. I had a dream.
