Forgiveness = Self Love
If we really want a genuine organic nerve tonic that is free of charge, it is our deepest love for forgiveness. As long as we hold a grudge in the secret chamber of our heart, the nerves weaken. When we realize the power of forgiveness, we forgive as the highest form of self-love; the release of the poison of blame and guilt lifts us up into a world where we can hear the Universal footsteps and the music of the spheres as we are enjoy perfect health.
Forgiveness is simply an understanding of the fallacy of having a grudge against anyone in the world, for it does only one thing, it damages our health and sense of wellbeing. Once a person knows two things, self-love and Universal love, then forgiveness will not be something we have to do, it will be something that just happens.
Forgiving has to come from our deepest understanding. The Universe is forgiving us all the time for our own innumerable mistakes, whether we commit them knowingly or unknowingly. We trample over many living insects and creatures without knowing their pain. We hurt people, often without having the slightest idea of the impact of our actions, our attitudes, our words, or our own ego. Yet the Universe allows us infinite chances to improve, to reach higher heights of conscious awareness so that we can discover and experience the true joy of life.
We come to learn that the more anyone attacks us with negativity, the greater is our opportunity to grow in awareness and consciousness. If we fill a person who has hurt us with the positive vibrations of our heart, with compassion and love, if we fill our own heart with prayers for that person and for our own limitations in forgiveness, compassion, and understanding, we cannot help but become healthier, happier, and more secure. We have a wider range of inner resources and a clearer mind with which to respond to the difficulty.
Most of us have heard a story or two about an abused person who nurtures a deep sense of shame and guilt, and who cultivates a desire for the most painful punishment for the abuser. This abused person not only doesn’t heal from the abuse, but through nurturing all of those negativities, falls victim to physical ailments and mental blocks. When such person can release the self-inflicted poison of hate and anger, and forgive the abuser, he or she recovers from the ailments, and finds a heart newly filled with understanding and compassion.
It is always in the present moment, when we are bathed in divine grace and light that forgiveness flows. It arises from the deep awareness of our need to simply let go of all sense of injury. It comes from realizing the truth that life is revealing to us. We realize that we have so much more in our life. Our sense of injury naturally dissolves in our more expansive awareness. So without the slightest effort, we forgive and move on to higher things.
It is by practicing this simple truth that a time comes when suddenly the Divine qualities start to manifest their miracles and we see that we don’t have to forgive anyone who has hurt us. Forgiveness is something that happens to us for we know that “To err is human, to forgive, Divine.” We know if we forgive, then someone else will forgive us for our mistakes. Remember the words of the Master, Jesus: “Forgive and thou shall be forgiven.”
