Featuring Mark Kitchell
Premiers Thursday, 31 October
What does it mean to be an environmentalist? Director and writer Mark Kitchell answers that question in his award-winning film A Fierce Green Fire. His moving documentary is an account of the largest movement of the 20th century: the environmental movement. Bringing together the major elements of environmentalism, Kitchell’s aim is to connect us all to the environment on a personal, national and global level, focusing on activism and a fight for the future of humanity. Here he discusses his passion and his work with host Lisa Garr.
Director, producer and writer Mark Kitchell is best known for the documentary Berkeley in the Sixties, which was nominated for an Academy Award. In the twenty years since that film was made, Kitchell has worked in non-fiction television, made films for hire, taught at UC Santa Cruz, done freelance production and developed A Fierce Green Fire.
