Fran Drescher – Cancer Schmancer
The book she wrote two years after her cancer treatment, “Cancer Schmancer,” documents her journey including her hysterectomy as well as her recovery, focusing mostly on the support she received from her friends and family. But Drescher didn’t stop there. During her book tour, the actress turned author learned firsthand that countless women were going through the same things that she had experienced. “That was when I realized the book was not the end but rather the beginning of a life mission to improve women’s healthcare,” she says. She has since become a passionate activist who especially focuses on cancer prevention by early detection and teaching people how to eliminate harmful toxins from household purchases like cosmetics, cleaners, and food
She founded the Cancer Schmancer Movement, cancerschmancer.org, to transform women from patients into medical consumers, and to shift this nation’s priority from searching for a cancer cure towards prevention and detection of cancer while it’s still in Stage 1 status, where treatment has the best chance of success in curing the disease.
CANCER IS AN EPIDEMIC.
