WALK-IN – Up Close with the Director Scott Blum
I had a very intense spiritual awakening as a teenager that eventually became so powerful that I was forced to denounce all forms of spirituality for many years. When my wife had her awakening much later in life, I dipped my toe back in spirituality, which ultimately culminated in co-founding DailyOM with her in 2004. After that, I once again became open to the metaphysical energy that is within and around us all. After some prodding by my intuition, I eventually began to write down the stories that were given to me. Everyone finds spirituality in different ways, and mine came in the form of an unconventional guru and the novel Illusions by Richard Bach. I eventually memorialized both of these inspirations in the form of my first novel, Waiting for Autumn, which ended up being the second book in my trilogy even though I wrote it first.
What is the premise of the film WALK-IN?
The film is about an ailing engineer named Donald Newport who meets an angel in his dreams who agrees to take over his diseased body in return for giving him the body of a puppy.
What exactly is a WALK-IN?
The term “Walk-In” describes the metaphysical phenomenon of what happens when more than one soul inhabits a single physical body. Unlike the negative term “possession,” which means that a body is taken over against its will, a Walk-In stems from a mutual agreement between the two souls, oftentimes made before the physical body is born. From a human perspective, what this means is that a body is “taken over” when the previous inhabitant is finished with their time on Earth and is no longer interested in continuing on.
