Precious Resource

It may not matter what the resource is, whether it is a physical one like water or a more spiritual one, humankind has grown very used to placing some sort of measurement of value upon it. We measure fuel we get from the earth in terms of barrels that equate to dollars. We assign units of energy and equate them in terms of a particular quantity it will take to heat or cool a room.

With as much as we continue to grow and change, it makes sense that the measuring standards for the resources we utilize must also grow and change. Using certain currency as a means by which to measure or control a particular resource can prove to be a challenge. People have been trained over time to consume particular foods and charge for services that the very measurement basis becomes unwieldy.

The people aspect of it alone is daunting. We may know it takes a certain amount of person-hours to perform a certain job or to create a material good. Exponentially, we can see that the larger picture of such energies being spent all around the world would be a monumental task to track and account for everything that is or can be created. Even if we were to concern ourselves with resources based on need, there comes a time when the sheer volume becomes somewhat incomprehensible–no matter what big numbers may correspond to it.

Yet, for every impossible, tangible amount, there is an unlimited and unknown amount of other possibilities. Whether they exist beyond our purview or have yet to come into being, we manage to find our way. To think that a new way is possible once we put our hearts and minds to the task makes this an incredible and precious resource indeed! It is one in which we all partake, whether we recognize it or not.

It certainly makes an impression upon us when we see a band of people who group together in a cohesive way to make something happen. We marvel at how people on opposite sides of the globe may serendipitously think of a similar solution to a problem or manage to know that it is up to them to make a difference. We see, on a fractal basis, how a remedy for a local illness can be shared outward and benefit others.

Over the past several years, we have witnessed some volatile changes in the economic and money systems by which we have measured our progress. We will sort out these changes and put a different method of tracking progress into place. To find the best way forward, we must look upon our resources as something that is precious and not exploitable.

Perhaps the biggest challenge going forward is the idea that such concepts as debts and other past expectations are to be ‘forgiven.’ We set the stage and the standard. We can choose to start fresh by removing the baggage that our economic journey forward has been carrying.

Speaking in euphemism, our precious resource, of which we are all a part, is in great need of cleaning. We must lighten the load and the opportunity for renewal is at hand. Just as some of us balk or get a little anxious over the idea of doing housework, we realize it needs to happen. We must surrender the baggage and implement a forgiveness program, as it is long overdue.

Rather than proceeding to implode society by increasing the amount of debt, we can choose to reset the clock and wipe the slate clean, giving ourselves a much-needed lift in the process.

Who among us would not like to benefit from having debts eliminated and starting over with a zero balance? Let our experience serve as a lesson that even with ‘controls’ over our currency, life continues to grow, change, and happen anyway.

For all the good a manufactured currency may bring, it also causes as much suffering. It is a growing imbalance, and now time for us to work together outside the scope of that broken system. Treat the goods and services as offerings to be enjoyed by all. Perform works as good deeds that benefit everyone, everywhere, simply because we are here in this particular time and place to enjoy them.

We need to realize that while we “owe” a lot to our past in the form of lessons learned, we have the opportunity to live in a more proactive way for the benefit of this and future generations. As with all education, the steps we take now will enhance our lives as we go on our path. It is as easy is making the most of “this” moment and choosing the right step.

Realize that once we are gone, our energy moves on while part of our spirit remains. This spirit is not as burdensome as the financial debt and other physical destruction we have accumulated. Spirit has a natural way of working throughout our existence. Can we say the same about the many physical things and systems we have created? As always, there is a lot of work to do.
