Tough Love with Kyle Keller

Omtimes Interview with with Kyle Keller
Omtimes: I know you just came off of the season finale of the hit reality show Tough Love: Co-ed. What did you learn from being a cast member on the show?
Kyle Keller: You know going into the show I had been a fan of the show for awhile, and going into the show as a fan you think you know what to expect, but you really have no idea. Steven gives us all nicknames and mine was “Ms. Disconnected” and it originally started because I have always kind of dated long distance.
I’ve always like it I think just because absence makes the heart grow fonder and it really does, and so Steve said that I have a fear of intimacy which I don’t necessarily think that I did, but then as the show progressed we noticed that my disconnection wasn’t only from my dating long distance but I talk a lot.
I always had the gift of gab. I am TV host and a correspondent I talk for a living, and we found out that when I was on my dates it felt like interviews. I was asking them surface questions I wasn’t really digging deep the way that I should, and I really learned to become a better listener and to really where my heart on my sleeve and learn to be vulnerable again.
I had gotten out of a relationship six months prior to filming “Tough Love: Co-Ed” and so I wasn’t really ready to get back into the dating pool, but I learned a lot about myself in terms of how to be a better dater but also my relationships with my family and my friends have gotten so much better surprisingly as well because I am a better listener. I think that just overall Steve Ward kind of changed my life for the better with little things that I didn’t even know.
