JVM:  What is something we would be surprised to know about you?

Yogi Cameron:  Since most of us have heard just about everything, I’m not really sure what it takes for people to be surprised. People often think that spiritual teachers must be austere at all times, so maybe they might be surprised that I make humor out of almost all situations. A joyful teacher is laughing much of the time and is joyful in their teachings as well.

JVM: Why is non-violence (ahimsa) such an important part of your teachings /work?

Yogi Cameron:  As set out in the One Plan, if we are violent in any shape or form, mentally or physically, we will have a much harder time creating peace in our hearts. We will struggle to live a disease-free and meaningful life. Violence tends to scare the mind and bring on afflictions, struggles, and many prejudices. These will cause us to think so much that it will affect our sleep and every aspect of our being. Meditation is a goal of this path, but attaining that state of being could never happen in a violent mind.

Yogi Cameron:  Yogis don’t have heroes, as everyone is a part of the divine. There are inspirational souls who overcome suffering to show the world how to live, and Nelson Mandela and Gandhi are a couple of these rare spirits.
