Jeff Olson:The Power Behind the The Slight Edge

Omtimes: How important is the element of Faith through a journey of challenges & adversities, and how can this be the difference between Personal Success and Disappointment?

Jeff Olson: You have to have faith, but you also have to have desire. These two things work hand-in-hand with each other. You have to have the desire to accomplish something, the desire to do what you need to do in the seeding and cultivating phase.

You have the have faith to believe that what you are doing will get you what you desire. Without faith you won’t do the things you need to do. Faith is huge in The Slight Edge, because it’s about doing the simple things that seem to make no difference.

Then do the simple things over and over, without seeing results. Once you see results, it’s easy to do what it takes because you have the reward. But 80% of the work is done before you see results. That’s the hard part, and without faith, it is very difficult. Faith is what keeps you going and desire gives you something to work toward.

Omtimes: What was the lower moment of your life and what was the motivation that created your turning point?

Jeff Olson: A lower moment of my life was when I built a television station, made a positive impact in many lives, and wasn’t able to sustain it. My dream was to build a TV channel with content that could change people’s lives. We built a channel with a satellite partner. The satellite partner folded and the television station went with it. Once this happened, I still kept the vision alive of the impact I had wanted to make through that company.
