In the episode, Jack Kornfield shares the surprising secret to growing one’s spiritual practice, introduces the basic principles behind Buddhism and steps involved in mindful living.

Jack Kornfield’s spiritual explorations have taken him around the world. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1967, he joined the Peace Corps and was sent to northeastern Thailand where he eventually sought training as a Buddhist monk. After leading a monastic life for five years he made the conscious choice to return to the U.S., eager to share what he’d learned with the West…and integrate the ancient teachings of Buddhism with the modern world.

Jack Kornfield has taught across the globe and led International Buddhist Teacher meetings with the Dalai Lama. He went on to co-found the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, and the Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California, where he currently lives and teaches today.
