Animal Adoption – ABBA Goes to the Dogs

The second facility operated by the SPCA is the SPCA Holding Center at 327 Highway 70 East in Garner. At this location, the SPCA accepts incoming animals from the public by appointment only. This limited intake policy is to keep the SPCA shelter from overflowing (and thus putting more animals at risk) by sharing these duties with the government-run Wake County Animal Shelter. This is done to benefit the animals and to ensure that precious resources allocated by local government for animals are used. Click here to read the SPCA’s intake policy. Additionally, the SPCA operates a program to reunite lost pets with their owners.

The SPCA is an autonomous organization and is not affiliated with or supported by any other SPCAs including the ASPCA. The SPCA is not a government-run organization. The SPCA of Wake County is a private, non-profit organization that serves the pets and people of the Wake County community.
