James Van Praagh: Spirit Talk
Discussing the popularity of mediumship and becoming a medium, James notes, “It’s important to recognize that if someone wants to be a medium, a psychic or whatever they want to do or even Reiki. Mediumship isn’t for everybody. It has to be of service. There are many ways to serve humanity. There are so many people out there who see it on TV or take a class and then want to do reading. It takes a lot of learning. You can serve humanity so much better if you do what you came back to do – what your gifts are. It’s all using that source energy, that God energy and manifesting in the way that is meant for your abilities.”
Recalling his first experience with a medium and noting he was a skeptical person, James conveys the story of how the medium looked at him and expressed, “You are a medium. You came back to this lifetime to help change the consciousness of the planet.” At the time, James was a cynical New Yorker who moved to Los Angeles to be a sitcom writer, but understands the move got him where he needed to be in order to do his soul’s work.
Stating that his next mission is to assist people with seeing themselves as souls and not humans, he says, “If people could start looking at themselves as souls having a human experience, and then they wouldn’t be in that human mindset and be so judgmental.” As we allow ourselves to begin the process to see individuals and experiences from the higher soul level, James says, “It’s a whole different world when you start seeing things from a soul perspective.”
