There are a lot of reason why you should donate pet supplies and pet food to your local pet pantry or animal shelter but I am only going to name a few here. More and more animals are going unfed every year and the numbers keep going up as the time goes on. So here are 3 reasons why you should donate to your local pet food pantry.
1. Tax Write Offs
Donating pet supplies or pet food is just the same as donating to your local Goodwill or thrift shop. There are tax write offs that will give you deductions for every dollar that you contribute to a worthy cause. They do have to be registered as a non-profit for you to receive credit but just about any pet shelter that accepts donations are familiar with the process. Hopefully you won’t donate just so you can get a tax write off but it sure is a nice benefit for giving something away.
2. Helping a Worthy Cause
Let’s be real, if you are reading this, it probably means that you have a computer, with internet access, and you can at least afford to pay your internet bill every month. If you have extra money, why not give back? It’s good for the soul and the cause is a worthy one. You are not only giving money to help pets in need. You are also giving something back to people who have devoted their lives to helping animals live and find a nice home. If you can’t donate money, donate your time. There are plenty of jobs that you can do to help out your local pet pantry.
3. Philanthropy for Your Business
All business should associate themselves with a charity or good cause that they give to regularly. Practicing philanthropy is very important and it gains you extra brownie points with your shareholders and the community. If you are a business owner, you should definitely consider donating to pet shelters. It looks good for your business and you can also receive tax write offs just like individuals. Also, it’s a great thing that you can add to your business website. It looks good for your business that you give away money and not just take it.
