Lila -A Lovely Poetic Short Film
Lila -A Lovely Poetic Short Film
“Make visible what without you, might perhaps never have been seen” ~Carlos Lascano
Lila like many sanskrit words, cannot be literally translated to English but can be loosely translated as “play” (noun). It is common to both non-dualistic and dualistic philosophical schools, but has a markedly different significance in each. Within non-dualism, Lila is a way of describing all reality, including the cosmos, as the outcome of creative play by the divine absolute.
The new short movie “Lila” is a sweet movie with no words. We could define this interesting visual experience as the proof that the Eye of the Observer determines the reality of the object.
LILA tells a story of a lovely girl that deliberately changes her world through her art. Metaphorically Lila co- creates her reality through an artistic and expressive Inner Visualization. In truth, our personal realities are no more than our perspectives, and Lila seems to create new alternatives that not only changes her moods and angles of perception, but also influences the other individuals and their environment.
In the “Making of Lila” Carlos Lascano, the director and writer, says:
“The story reflects a day in Lila’s life, a dreamy girl who can’t resign to accept reality as flat as she perceives it, using her imagination to modify it. The way we perceive reality often comes as a result of an imagination exercise in which sometimes only changing a little detail we can modify the whole.”
“Lila is the character of a short film that somehow completes a sort of aesthetic trilogy I have started in 2008 with “A short love story in Stop Motion” and then followed in 2011 with “A shadow of blue” I had the pleasure to have the talented Sandy Lavallart composing this beautiful music sandylavallart.com You can take a look at the backstage here:
