Annie Kagan: Insights of the Afterlife

Annie Kagan OMTimes

Billy says, ‘Life is a Divine mysterious impulse to be tasted and released.’ In her own words, Annie says, “I can experience. I’m not always going to understand why things happen, but I’m going to try to live them the best I can.” Recalling another favorite lesson, Annie acknowledges that Billy taught her about the shadow side of life, saying “Of course, he’s the “bad boy,” and I’m the “good girl.” For me, I was always waiting for life to be what I considered perfect before I could have a really good time – the perfect summer afternoon with the picnic and no rain and no clouds. Nothing is spoiling my perfect picture of what reality should be.” Billy says at one point, ‘It can’t always be no shadows. Noon only happens at one point during the day, so if you have the beautiful breeze, sometimes you are going to have tornadoes. If you have the beautiful sea, sometimes you are going to have storms, and so, therefore, there is this shadow element to life, to myself and to other people.’

Annie continues with her thoughts, “When it comes to other people, I don’t have this expectation anymore that they should be the way I want them to be – that they should be “perfect.” There is so much more room within me to accept other people at life’s terms and on their terms. One of the things he talks about is the true unconditional love that we receive in the Higher Worlds. Whatever we call unconditional love on Earth is not really unconditional because we are humans. We have conditions. We have a shadow side.”

Annie Kagan indicates that Billy conveys, ‘True unconditional love is what is the most healing – that’s the way you are healed. You are understood. You are loved. Even the parts of you that aren’t so-called perfect, they are understood. You are just seen as a beautiful being and that acceptance really is what heals your soul.’

Undoubtedly this book has had an amazing effect not only on Annie Kagan but also on the numerous readers who have made the conscious choice to read it. Reflecting on the entire experience of writing the book, Annie offers, “I didn’t want to do it as I very much wanted to keep the experience to myself, and then Billy put different people in my path who I wound up telling the story to, and it was so important to them. Initially, I only told a handful of my friends maybe five or six people.” Annie shares stories of how choosing to share her conversations with Billy have assisted others with their own grief and healing. She knows that she is the messenger. She says, “Billy is reaching so many people – people who have lost loved ones and also people who really dig his very street-cred way of giving these ancient spiritual truths in very down-to-earth modern ways. When he was talking to me, I was having these amazing inner experiences. Now, people are reporting that they are also having experiences. I get letters all of the time from people who say that Billy puts words to what they have always felt inside them about life, about Spirit, and when they have the words, it really helps them transform.” Commending Annie for her courage to share this story, she acknowledges that she had a lot of fear even though she wasn’t so concerned always with how she looks in people’s eyes.

She expresses, “Two things concerned me the most. One is that, when I learned to meditate, I was cautioned that I really should not share my spiritual experiences – that you are really supposed to keep your spiritual experiences to yourself. I thought this was a spiritual experience and my friend convinced me that it was actually Billy’s spiritual experience, so it’s okay. The other thing was I felt like there are things that Billy told me that I don’t really think show up anywhere else. It’s these kinds of details about death. If they were supposed to be known, they would already be known. I didn’t really want to be the one to say this in the world; to put these ideas into the world because they felt kind of taboo. That was really scary to me. When I thought it was too intense, Billy was always the “bad boy” fooling around with me and convinced me that I was just being way too serious about the whole thing, and it wasn’t really the big drama I thought it was. He would tease me and say, ‘Hey honey, it’s not that serious that you are making it all. It’s not so important. It’s not so dramatic. It’s simpler than that; it’s not such a big deal.”

So, according to Billy, what happens after you die?

Annie Kagan: As soon as you die, you go through a healing chamber that erases all the pain you suffered during your lifetime. That chamber is a birth canal into a Divine Universe filled with compassionate, intelligent light. Most people go to the first level of that Universe where they reunite with loved ones in a way that is more wondrous than anything imaginable. Billy’s experience was different, however. He takes us on a walk along the path of a soul that will not be coming back to earth again.

Why do you call Billy your bad-boy brother?

Annie Kagan: All his life Billy had a romance with the dark side. He was in and out of drug problems, which eventually brought him to an addict’s death. But Billy was also fun, adventurous and charismatic. His favorite thing was helping people. And that’s what he’s doing now. In a way, being a drug addict gave him a different understanding of life. He didn’t do well at life, but he sure learned a lot about life’s difficulties. In that moment, I was prompted to remind Annie that whenever we put a message out, we can’t control how other people will receive that information. Even though it may not be totally fearful, still in the back of our human mind, we still question how people are going to receive this. Bringing forward this new information, it’s easy to be the second person in line, but to be at the forefront, to be number one saying, “Here we go!” can be difficult. Whether you care about their opinion or not, people are still going to offer it. It does take a lot of courage. She replies, “Maybe I had those feelings and didn’t even know. I also thought people might spoil the experience for me because it was so personal. I knew that people would have all kinds of thoughts and feelings about it wondering if she is making it up. There is so much proof in the book along with the conversations; there is also evidentiary after death communication. Billy gives me information that turns out to be true each time and typically it’s about other people. Without that aspect, without those proofs, I wouldn’t have put the book out there. I wouldn’t have had the confidence to know that Billy was real.” Regarding communication with our own loved ones who have passed, Annie offers this advice when people lose a loved one, “It’s really good to be open to the way they communicate and may not be as obvious as what Billy did because Billy is writing a book. Utilizing your imagination, your senses, and your intuition is the way they use to communicate with us. Being open to what you feel inside does not mean that you are making it up. It’s just a way to being, to open your channels to begin to connect with the Other Side. Since the very beginning of time, through all cultures, there has been a belief in the Afterlife. If something is that prevalent, there has to be truth to it. Today, a lot of that information comes from near death experiences. Before that, people always believed that their ancestors protected and guided them from the Other Side. I used to think that was kind of superstitious, but now I know that really happens. Looking at the statistics, one in four people in our society, which isn’t that open to it, say they have had some kind of sign from the Other Side.”

What was the most important thing you learned from Billy about life on earth?

Annie Kagan: I am the sun and the moon, the stars and the galaxies. Literally, I am made from all that! I look at photos from the Hubble telescope and close my eyes and imagine all those supernovas and nebulas inside and all around me. I am instantly transported from the drama du jour into the infinite Cosmos. As I imagine myself as the Infinite, I’m touched by my Infinite Self. Acknowledging that Spirit communication can be very subtle, Annie reminds us to pay attention to the little signs. She says, “If you start with the smaller signs, and you really let them in. I think the signs and conversations get more profound.” She encourages people to go with it, to go with your intuitive hits. Ultimately, Billy wants her to just tell the story and let people make up their own minds. Words of advice from Annie and Billy: If you really start to know that you are a Divine eternal being right now with so much more potential than you have ever imagined that not only will you have a better death when the time comes, but your fear of death will lessen and you will have a much better life as well. To enjoy every moment; even the moments that aren’t the way you want them to be. It is all temporary. It is just constantly changing. You may not love this minute, but hopefully, the next minute will be different.

You have strength, wisdom and intelligence beyond what you think you have. Life is an evolutionary journey and so is death. You are just going through all of these wonderful realms, including Earth, and take the best from them. Take the best from everything that you do and don’t be limited by other people’s concepts of you or life. Through her experience and Afterlife communication with her “bad-boy” brother, Annie recognizes the changes in her own life. She says, “When my chiropractic practice, something that I went to school to learn for years and years and years and invested time and money in. When that didn’t work out, it seemed like a great tragedy, but actually it led me to a very unexpected place that I couldn’t even imagine. You don’t always have to know exactly where you are going because your life may have great surprises in store for you. You just don’t know. If you give your best to the moment, and as Billy says, “You don’t have to pretend that you love what is going on.”

Your book has become an international bestseller and has now been translated into many different languages. Over 100,000 people from more than 50 countries are following you on Facebook. Why do you think Billy’s message has resonated with so many people?

Annie Kagan: I think it’s because Billy’s giving us spiritual knowledge in a street-cred kind of way. Billy wakes up what we knew in the higher realms before we were born. That knowledge empowers us to be ourselves and live by the truth of who we really are, not by society’s rules. Billy has a great way of putting things into perspective. He encourages us to make something good out of this…to enjoy our life as much as we can.
