Candling and the Immune System
Unlike the heart which pumps the blood, there is no pump to send the lymph round the body so it is through physical activity that it functions and we can avoid overloading it by adopting a healthy lifestyle.
How Candling works on the Immune System
What do the candles have to do with it? When treating, the warmth of the candle spirals down and stimulates the body’s immune system as it burns. Blowing smoke into the ears has been practised by many traditions for millennia, so we know it is gentle warmth that is important. I heard of a grandfather who kept a packet of cigarettes which he used to blow smoke into the ears of his grandchildren to relieve suffering from earache which, like any health problem indicates an immune system functioning below par.
How do we know that the immune system is stimulated? After all, it seems a bit vague. Let me give a few examples as to why this is so. A therapist contacted me about a patient who had developed candida in her ears after a candle session.
Candida is a symptom of a compromised immune system and a doctor friend who also works with candles suggested checking for a blockage in the cervical vertebrae. The action of the candles had caused the lymph to start flowing correctly but if the vertebrae were blocked it could not drain past the ears where the debris set up an infection. On checking with the patient she confirmed that she was using natural remedies in an attempt to improve her weak immune system.
