Joe Cross – Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead

So after one day, two days, three days it gets worse and worse and worse. So this first stage is absolutely the worst part of the reboot. Then something magical happens, on average, around 72 hours in. Because there’s been no fiber, because the body hasn’t had to create enzymes to digest the food, it knows that it’s on a famine. And the brain says hold on a second. There’s no point being angry and grumpy and miserable, and making Joe irritable. We’ve got to give Joe energy to get out and find food. We’ve got to improve his hearing, his eyesight. We’ve got to give him a better sense of smell. We’ve got to power him up.

Joe Cross: I also think that it’s very important to connect with people. Community, community, community is what I talk to people about — and making successful changes in their life when it comes to lifestyle choices. Don’t try and do everything all at once. Take little things and make them a ritual. I’m a big believer that we need to get more fruits and vegetables into our diet. I love the idea of juicing. I think that we’ve got to create habits that can work out a way so that every day we wake up and get excited about going out there and embracing Mother Nature.
