OMTimes: How do you handle the oxymoron of celebrity when you are often touting the unity in our diversity and encouraging people to find the divine from within themselves?

Deepak Chopra, M.D: Neither I nor my family take my “celebrity” seriously.

OMTimes: Is there a downside to your notoriety? And “Guru” label?

Deepak Chopra, M.D: I do not pay attention to my notoriety and I refuse to be labeled.

OMTimes: You often are attacked in the “press” by skeptics… do you find it is hard to “convince” someone who has not had a personal experience of Unity consciousness, of what you call the “infinite”?

Deepak Chopra, M.D: I do not try to convince skeptics. However, my ego occasionally likes to joust with them.

OMTimes: Does Deepak Chopra have a bucket list? Or do you just live in the now? Or as you like to say “I live where I am”.

Deepak Chopra, M.D: No lists, no anticipation, no regrets.

OMTimes: Do you feel like you can learn something new? Is there anyone who has impressed upon you on this new journey?

Deepak Chopra, M.D: At the moment my only authority is my inner silence from where I renew myself.

OMTimes: As a pioneer in promoting alternative and complimentary / integrative medicine it seems that you are more personally interested in Quantum Physics and the pursuit to understanding consciousness? Do you believe our consciousness can override are physical reality?

Deepak Chopra, M.D: I am a subscriber to John von Neumann who is a scientist. I also subscribe to the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. The most eloquent exponent of that is Henry Stapp who believes our choices influence outcomes in the physical world.
