SEATTLE ,WA (July 1, 2014) – A new, feature documentary, SONG OF THE NEW EARTH, features the ardent quest of sound healer, psychotherapist, and sonic shaman Tom Kenyon for the integration of modern science and ancient mysticism through the power of sound. His rare ability to brilliantly decipher the healing science of sound results in a mesmerizing and transformational film.
SONG OF THE NEW EARTH made its World Premiere at the 40th Annual Seattle International Film Festival to a sold out audience and was an official selection of the Illuminate Film Festival in Sedona.
The film is now screening theatrically in select venues nationwide, and will be available exclusively on DVD in November of 2014.
SONG OF THE NEW EARTH provides viewers with a distinctive and intimate portrait of Kenyon’s quirky yet rare talent. As a self proclaimed neo-pagan-Taoist-Tibetan Buddhist-agnostic-quantum physicist-mystic, he transcends conventional musical forms by chanting or “toning,” using his nearly four octave range voice that takes audiences on sound journeys to deeper states of consciousness.
As an aspiring country musician, Tom Kenyon was on way to fame and fortune when a series of mystical experiences rocked his world. Desperate to understand his experience, he fervently dove into the study of Neurophysiology to explore his unexplainable spiritual insights and became an expert in the world’s spiritual traditions including: Tibetan Buddhism, Yoga, Taoism, mystical Christianity, Shamanism, and Egyptian alchemy and more.
