Why are so many UFO Stories kept secret?
Erich von Däniken: First of all, I myself have never seen an UFO. Probably they all run away instead having contact with Erich von Däniken (laughs). On the other hand, I know a lot of the literature in the field of UFO’s. And I must admit that at least 80% we can explain one way or another. But it is a fact that some of the UFO’s sightings are being held secret by governments, etc. and the question is why? Because they are afraid. First, imagine the USA that spends billions a year on their defense system. If they admit that there might be some strange beings -flying spaceships – flying around that they can’t do anything against it, it would be a shock.
And of course you have the scientific community, in which I am including the astronomic community, who believe that while we may have the possibility of Life outside of the planet, they argue that, even if possible, it would be unlikely that they would be able to make the leap with gigantic distances from their place to come here. Many governments and secret services are saying that we must prepare mankind slowly for the possibility of these events, we cannot tell them the truth right away.
What is Behind the Crop Circles?
Erich von Däniken: Some of the crop circles are fakes, we know that some students made them even with the help of some professors, but others are not fakes, they are truth, and the question is why. What is this? Is this some sort of UFO’s or what? I do not have the answers, I just have speculations. I could imagine that they could be intelligent beings from another dimension, not necessarily from outer space or from a big distant place, but another dimension, such as the time. There are many other dimensions next to our dimension, so an intelligent life form from another dimension is trying to communicate with us, and they have the possibility to do this with Crop Circles. But Mankind is so stupid and does not believe in anything, and as soon one of the crop circles were deemed fake, we immediately assume that all are fake, which is a shame for the scientific community, that they do not take this phenomenon seriously. I am sure that if we had answered in the same way, for example if we go on creating ourselves crop circles and continuing the communication, and they answer us sending a mathematical message, we would have some sort of communication, but in this world nothing happens.
