Song of the New Earth: Tom Kenyon

I personally felt like crying when listening to the last song on Song of the New Earth, although there was nothing for me to cry about. I was letting go of past pain, invisibly stored within my being. When we all heal, the Earth heals too, as we are in this vibratory matrix together.

In the movie and in our conversation, Tom relayed an experience being in a cave and greeting an Earth spirit, a deep and usually silent spirit. Sadness was expressed by this soul without a physical body, because humanity does not love and care for the Earth. The Earth will survive, but species (such as humans) have come and gone. With great concern, Tom said, “Our careless actions and plunder of the Earth are toying with our destruction. Earth energy cries to be balanced. The feminine energy of feelings and nurturing needs to be honored and strengthened.

This emotional strength must be respected – becoming equal with the actions and masculinity of mankind.” Tom issued a warning cry in the dark: Love the earth with all your heart – before it is too late. The movie, Song of the New Earth, described Kenyon’s story of being asked by Spirit Entities to sing the Song of Earth. Tom feels energies coming through him and allows his body to replicate the feelings through sounds. In this way Tom sings from the inside out.

Tom’s special sounds are not ones that we normally hear from a vocal solo. He produces whistles, groans, cello and percussion sounds, along with the sounds of the wind. Sounds shoot from his mouth like a water pistol, or echo in the womb of the mouth. Muffled vibrations ricochet down his throat and off the walls of the gothic-like mouth chamber.

His sound shoots into his nose or splits into two simultaneous voices. This is definitely not your ordinary concert. The vibrations hit different areas of the inside of the mouth and then various parts of his body vibrate in turn – each adding their own unique flair to the final sound. For example, sounds vibrating up into the pineal gland appear dreamy, and sound echoing off the back of the teeth are percussive-like. Throughout the ages, wise sages knew that new sounds create new consciousness.
