OMTIMES: Why do you think this book is life-changing?
Temple Hayes: I challenge readers to live their lives with all parts of their soul complete. I use my own life as an example of how through dying a little every day I lost parts of my soul. I lost the vibrant nature I was born with. This book will show you how to get those missing parts of your soul back by waking up, dealing with your fears, and putting your whole self into your life. After a lifetime of dying every day, if you want to reopen your heart, this book will show you how. This book has depth, filled with true stories of how I faced so many things in my life which either could have devastated or defined me. Later in my life, I learned to see the events and wounds from an early age and change them to my sacred story. I made a vow within myself to change the tragedy to triumph and to be more, rather than less, with everything I faced in her life.
OMTIMES: When Did You Die—that’s an interesting title; how did you happen to call your book When Did You Die?
Temple Hayes: This book title was given to me about 10 years ago while on a spirit journey during a retreat. On this journey, I was seeing different cemeteries and seeing people walking in them just barely alive. This imagery stayed with me for a long time until I understood that this had been the underlying message of my life, I had watched the walking dead all my life, seeing people just going through the motions of life. I also had died a lot during the first few chapters of my life not being truly me. One day it all came together – an ah ha moment – that I had died, energetically- speaking, to my true nature a long time ago- and I subsequently became resurrected to my totally alive and vibrant self. I knew then this is what I was born to do – help people become alive again – energized and impassioned!
