Mallika Chopra: Living with Intent

But, I also need to listen in a very authentic way, because I think sometimes we feel like we need to do extraordinary things or, you know, be super heroes or manage everything. And for me, to be honest, when I started to listen to that question I realized, you know what? For me right now, it’s actually playing this role of a mother and, nurturing my community at Intent. And that’s great. That’s–and he really empowered me to feel like–you know, he calls people like us the frequency holders, the people who are really doing the extraordinary, everyday, and ordinary things.

Sylvia Henderson: I love that term, the frequency holders. I think that’s just a beautiful way to express that we all carry a certain vibration. We all bring something brilliant to the table.

Mallika Chopra: Actually, I was very lucky, obviously, because of the family I’ve grown up in. I’ve actually grown up knowing many of these people. So, first I was able to tap into my father, Deepak Chopra, and we could talk about that as well. But, I also spoke to, aside from Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson, Andrew Weil. I talked to Arianna Huffington, connected with Arielle Ford, who many on this channel may know as well, and then also people like Caryl Stern who’s the head of UNICEF. So, I had real amazing access to incredible mentors.

Sylvia Henderson: And so, when you think about all of the information and wisdom that you gathered, was there anything that was most poignant for you?

Mallika Chopra: You know, I think each person brought a different insight to my journey. With my father, I actually shared with him one day at my parents’ house kind of the stress that I was facing and feeling out of balance. And so, he really helped me kind of very practically draw a balance wheel, which I share in the book, and think about the different aspects of my life and how I could kind of rank if I was suffering, surviving, or thriving. And so, that was a really practical and helpful experience for me. We talked about Eckhart Tolle. And, Eckhart was amazing because I think for me, what–when he talked about the frequency holders, and I actually at one point even said to him, “You know, I just feel sometimes like I’m a soccer mom. And is that enough?” And he was like– he just made me feel so empowered and, like, the importance of what I’m doing in my life right now and, you know, again, stressing that it’s the everyday and the ordinary that makes the extraordinary. So, that was very moving for me.
