The lyrics from Johnny Nash/Jimmy Cliff’s song, I Can See Clearly Now, are incessantly playing in my mind with the passing of internationally renowned best-selling author and speaker in the fields of self-development and spiritual growth, Dr. Wayne Dyer.
…Look straight ahead, there’s nothing but blue skies.
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for.
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day…
In his memoir of the same name published earlier this year, Wayne Dyer shares numerous events from his life as he takes readers with him on his journey into the formative experiences of his life and views the events from his current perspective of seeing clearly. Affectionately referred to as the “father of motivation,” Dr. Wayne Dyer overcame many obstacles to make his own dreams come true. Gratefully, he devoted much of his time by assisting others with guidance, tools, and insight in order to live an extraordinary life as well. He states, “it is possible for every person to manifest their deepest desires – if they honor their inner divinity and consciously choose to live from their Highest Self.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer conveys the lessons he ultimately learned while discovering that there are no accidents since life does have a purpose, and each step of our journey has something to teach us. As he says, “I wasn’t aware of all of the future implications that these early experiences were to offer me. Now, from a position of being able to see much more clearly, I know that every single encounter, every challenge, and every situation are all spectacular threads in the tapestry that represents and defines my life, and I am deeply grateful for all of it.”
The five key principles, which have guided him through all his important life choices, are willingness, determination, fearlessness, compassion, and love. Dr. Wayne Dyer believes these principles “make up the rungs of a sacred ladder that can bring us all closer to our most sacred self,” so that we, too, can see more clearly how our life circumstances encompass our human life experience for this incarnation.
Appearing on thousands of television and radio shows, Dr. Wayne Dyer is the author of over 40 books, including 20 New York Times bestsellers. His books, Manifest Your Destiny, Wisdom of the Ages, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem, 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace, The Power of Intention, Inspiration, Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life, Excuses Begone!, Wishes Fulfilled, and I Can See Clearly Now have all been featured as National Public Television specials.
Attaining a doctorate in educational counseling from Wayne State University and serving as an associate professor at St. John’s University in New York, Dr. Wayne Dyer’s early work in college teaching and clinical psychology allowed him to discover the need to make the principles of self-discovery and personal growth available to a wider audience.
After publishing several best-selling books focusing on the practical psychology of self-improvement, Dr. Wayne Dyer said he felt a shift occurring in his thinking that led him to explore the spiritual aspects of human experience. He expressed: “My purpose is to help people look at themselves and begin to shift their concepts. Remember, we are not our country, our race, or religion. We are eternal spirits. Seeing ourselves as spiritual beings without label is a way to transform the world and reach a sacred place for all of humanity”
Through his own self-work and evolutionary transformation, Dr. Wayne Dyer can truly see clearly now as he begins his next adventure on the Other Side – an adventure he welcomed as noted by the announcement of his passing shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, August 30, 2015:
