The Gathering offered an extraordinary array of arts and cultural events included dancing, singing, gourd festival, kidz harvest festival, multicultural thanksgiving, 10 authors and illustrators, 75+ living history exhibitors and trading post vendors, military veteran & uniformed tribute and more, with invitation for all to participate.

Since before the time of our ancestor’s long years ago, people have tried to find out how and why things work in the physical world, but seldom do we hear about experiments in thanksgiving and humanity, specifically with regard to embracing Native American Indian culture. President Obama in this month’s 2015 presidential proclamation for National Native American Heritage Month said, “While we cannot undo the pain and tragedy of the past, we can set out together to forge a brighter future of progress and hope across Indian Country and the entire American landscape. The President calls upon all Americans to commemorate November for Native American people with programs and activities. President Obama also calls upon all Americans to celebrate November 27, 2015, as Native American Heritage Day.

Campbell is one among a group of Native American Indians on the East Coast captivating and teaching audiences to help preserve Indian culture in the eastern United States. This month Louis Campbell was arena director for a movement to bring everyone back into the sacred circle called The Gathering. Louis Campbell is among many people who see themselves as Keepers of the Treasures “our children and next seven generations.”

Sanctuary on the Trail™ the Native American Church of Virginia initiated to host the first combination of traditional Native American Harvest Dance combined with the 14th Annual Virginia Gourd Festival in Virginia.
