William Bezanson: I BELIEVE

We are souls temporarily occupying physical bodies. Who was I in a previous incarnation? I was I. And I will be I in subsequent ones. So what I do in this lifetime greatly influences what type of life I will be born into in the next one.

The Rosicrucians teach that the reincarnation cycle has a period of 144 years, on the average. So, since I was born in this life in 1943, that means, to a first approximation, that I was born in the previous life around 1800, and I will be back again around 2087. Now, if only we could teach a large number of people about this spiritual law, the truth of reincarnation and its cyclic period, I believe that we would see a lot of sobering up about taking care of our world.

I’m pretty sure that Jesus the Christ, Gautama the Buddha, and other spiritual leaders taught about reincarnation. In the case of Jesus, I think that his teachings were greatly edited by the early church fathers, to make their man-made scriptures and liturgies comply with a human-controlled embryonic church. And as popes and bishops gradually gained control, the tendency was overwhelming for them to exert control over their flock to follow the church’s man-made (not woman-made) rules. Letting the people know about reincarnation would be empowering to the people and counter-productive to the developing church powers.  So, if I could change one thing about the church’s fundamental teachings, I would free up the clergy to talk openly about reincarnation, about our responsibility to live this life optimally in preparation for our next incarnations, and to empower the people to think for themselves in such matters of our soul’s evolution lifetime after lifetime.

OMTIMES: Coming from your  background as a Rosicrucian and Jungian, your intent in providing mankind some lessons on wisdom is a brave enterprise. How do you see the role of Ageless Wisdom bringing about a Golden Era, and how is this different from the New Age philosophy?

William Bezanson: I think that New Age philosophy is too superficial, and about quick gratification. It is not rooted in a fundamental foundation, in my understanding of it. But the “Ageless Wisdom” is about fundamentals, for example, “As Above, So Below,” to cite the first Hermetic principle, and therefore should elicit deeper, spiritual reactions, and thus last longer, reach a wider audience, and create more fundamental change than the New Age movement.
