William Bezanson: I BELIEVE

OMTIMES: Is there any other question that you wish I had asked you?

William Bezanson_omtimesWilliam Bezanson: Yes … What is your view of the difference between religion and mysticism? OK, with Religion one has an indirect experience with the Divine, through the priesthood and scriptures. By this, one studies and learns about why we are here, what happens next, what God is, the religion’s explanation of cosmic development, and so on.

At least this is the case with organized religion, such as by membership in a parish or church, and through the church hierarchy. With Mysticism, one has a direct, personal experience with the Divine, by direct contact through mystical practices, such as meditation, intuition, dream-work, and other spiritual techniques. Mysticism does not require membership in an organization, but can be practiced alone and individually. Organizations do exist, of course, and they can enhance the mystical experience, through teachings, group exercises, support, and so on.

In my own case, I belong to a church, the Anglican Church of Canada, but I gain more personal and spiritual development through my membership in a Rosicrucian Order and related initiatic orders. My mission in life is to help to bring about a spiritual state in this mundane world. I do that through my writings, lectures, ongoing world and individual healing exercises, and so on. With a religious institution, one can pray for such matters, but with mysticism, one works directly with nature and spiritual principles to contribute to bringing about those matters directly, not indirectly.

OMTIMES: How can our readers can connect with you, and where they can find and buy your books?

William Bezanson: Thank you, Christopher, for asking, and thank you for this opportunity to talk about my message and philosophy.
