Susan Miller: AstrologyZone 2016
I print out all of the charts with equal house degrees, and I carefully make 12 folders, one for every month of the year, from January through December. Inside each folder are all the 12 signs for that month. I will staple the new and full moon together for that sign, such as “Aries -New Moon Capricorn January 9, 2016” and “Aries- Full Moon in Leo, January 23, 2016”. In all, 12 signs, and 24 charts at the very least. This gives me a snapshot of the sky for every sign that month. Many astrologers don’t want to do all this work, but it is very worthwhile.
Then I print out all the key aspects. My computer does that for me. Some aspects are too lightweight to discuss—Mercury conjunct Venus, for example, is too fleeting an aspect to feel for an entire day as a major aspect—so I center on the aspects that each sign will feel strongly that year. After that, I set out to write about how that aspect will affect each sign individually. For my calendar I write how ant sign can use the day, using easy-to-understand English, with no technical terms. I also look at what time of day that aspect will culminate, and sometimes I will move it ahead one day. You will feel an aspect as it builds, and will feel it less after it has peaked and is on the decline. Every aspect will be weighted carefully. I deliberate a great deal.
On my website, Astrology Zone, I have much more room to describe various aspects, so I can get into more detail, and pinpoint how a particular sign can use that aspect. I also often name specific birthdays for each of the signs, based on mathematical degrees of the transiting planets, so that readers can know how strongly they might feel that aspect. This is how my monthly forecast comes to 48,000 words for all 12 signs, in total. It’s a lot of work, and each sign takes seven hours to write.
