Debra Silverman: The Missing Element

Debra_Silverman_Cover_OmtimesRick DiClementi: But, when you started reading, did you have authors who compelled you, that fell along your line and enticed you?

Debra Silverman: Linda Goodman was one of my heroes. I love the way she writes. She captured my attention. Steve Arroyo, I really appreciated his point of view. I loved Dane Rudhyar. I found his material rich. But, honestly, my experience is what taught me. I started studying astrology when I was in graduate school studying clinical psychology, and I was doing everyone’s charts before I did their first session.

Rick DiClementi: Well, that’s fabulous. I was very fascinated with a few things you said in your book, “There are two types of people. There are those who are humble and there are those who are going to be.” Whoa, explain that one.

Debra Silverman: Like, we’re all human and we’re all awkward, and everyone has the same story. You fell in love. You got your heart broken. You made money, then you lost it. You thought you wanted to be something but you were something else. Your kid got addicted, then they got sober. Then you found out your partner cheated. Then you found out they loved you. So, it’s just a matter of time ’til something happens and you’ll be on your knees. And so, get your knees shiny and be willing to be on your knees, because we’re all in this together. And nobody has this right.

Rick DiClementi: Can you explain to people that the breakdown of cycles that we’re going through is very natural and it needs to happen in a way that’s not so scary to our Cancerian nation (United States)?

Debra Silverman: Imagine that it’s winter and you’ve never seen it before. And everything’s falling off the trees and everything’s going dead, and all of a sudden you’re getting really cold. We’re in winter. Everything’s going to fall off, the leaves. We’re going to scream, and then a miracle will occur. According to the esoteric law, we’re around the corner from an era that it so tired of being tired and exhausted and bored and miserable and hurtful, something has to change. But, it’s never easy. So, we’re at that moment.

Rick DiClementi: Rumi, he said the cure for your pain is in your pain.

Debra Silverman: You’re such a Capricorn. So, yes, never before in history have we consumed and been having the appetite to take Mother Nature and spend our every resource beyond its measure. Never before in history have we been able to communicate with this thing called the Web and have every thought show up instantaneous. And I can tell you that it’s not comfortable to birth. We’re in pain. The lesson on this planet is our tolerance for pain; to say I don’t want to hurt and I want to use the wisdom of my lessons is a very high level of consciousness. Many of us are seeking to reach this level.
