She is the world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees and the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, a global nonprofit focused on inspiring individual action to improve the understanding, welfare and conservation of great apes, and Roots and Shoots, which brings together youth from preschool to university age to work on environmental, conservation and humanitarian issues. She is the recipient of far too many international awards and honorary degrees to list here.
