Interview of Michelle Beltran by Shay Parker for OMTimes Magazine

Shay Parker: I have the honor today of interviewing the incredible Michelle Beltran. She is a psychic medium, a published author. Michelle, I’d like you to tell our readers today, the sort of the other things you’re involved with, especially that very exciting new release of your new book, so we’re going to talk about that.

Michelle Beltran: Thank you so much. It’s an honor to be here with you today. Looking back on my life, it makes sense that I’ve come to this juncture of the work I do, and the book I’ve written recently, Take the Leap, What It Means To Be A Psychic. And, despite a career in law enforcement, I have which I think many might raise an eyebrow to, as a precursor to this kind of work, it started long ago.

I had my first psychic reading at nine. I am a second generation psychic. I was raised by a mother who was a healer and energy worker and psychic. I grew up, connecting with my inner self, was quite normal. And meditation or creating a quiet space was normal, as well. There were spiritual books strewn about our home, and it was okay and safe to talk about human possibility and potential and meditation and the metaphysical.

And so, I grew up with that influence. In my mid-20s, I just really had this beautiful, explosive, veracious sort of appetite for the metaphysical and began reading all kinds of books. I could get my hands on from James Van Praagh to John Holland, Deepak Chopra, Abraham, Wayne Dyer; you name it.

It just went on and on. I didn’t expect that I would be where I am now at this juncture with the business and meeting with clients essentially all over the globe. I certainly didn’t expect it. I’m in my calling, and, I really, really put it to the test and started pursuing formal education. I received formal education in psychic development, mediumship, remote feeling, and one thing led to another and all rooted in just wanting to help others, and was life, a goal of mine to just helping people just to live the best life they could.

Shay Parker: Obviously, you had a very supportive family, which I think is paramount in this sort of work. I think it’s wonderful that you did have such an embracing family, it helps to make that message stronger. I know that you were in law enforcement. So, did you– always have metaphysical experiences or psychic hits, or did that develop later in life, or did it come about when you were in law enforcement, or how did that whole thing develop?

Michelle Beltran: That’s a wonderful question. And it has always been there, yes, but I didn’t know it. And so, throughout college, I served a tour in the military and law enforcement work. I was a professional athlete for some years. I was always getting it. I would say, it was a gut sense about things and knowingness about an event or a decision or a person. I just trusted my emotions. I learned from it very quickly that my emotions were a gift, that they were always guiding me right, they were, in a sense, my internal compass system, and I could trust them. And then once I got into training and realized what it was, an image or an impression I was seeing was clairvoyant. And, then it just began to flourish more and more with the formal training.

Shay Parker: Now, I want to ask a point of clarity on that just for our readers because I know- a lot of professional mediums are taught to leave their emotion out of reading like when they’re doing a reading for someone else. I believe you were saying, for your life, you followed your emotions, but obviously, when you’re doing readings for others, that’s a separate ballgame. Am I correct in saying that?

Michelle Beltran: Yeah, absolutely correct. And so, let’s clarify that distinction. When I talk about tuning into my emotions and my sense, I’m tuning into that clairsentience ability. And Clairsentience means clear feeling. We have several “clair” abilities in my book. I refer to them as sensibilities. But, they are all of our senses, sight, smell, taste, sound, touch, in a heightened way. And that’s how we can then psychically receive messages and impressions. So, clairsentiently, I would be feeling. By the way, I’m sure that my physical ability, the time where I spent racing professionally and coming in tune with my body and just living a healthy lifestyle has enhanced that ability. It’s a body, mind, spirit balance. And so, just a healthy body, in general, helps to open that up.

Shay Parker: I know you touched on it, but you are a teacher, as well, and a life coach. Let’s talk about the Courses that you offer. Michelle Beltran: So, I offer beginning psychic development and mediumship development. I also teach controlled remote viewing courses. And the podcasts, some of that–some of the courses are available through the podcasts. Much of it, though, is at my website where a person can enroll in one of the courses for a six to 12-week program, depending on their schedule and their desire and interest. Every student is different. Every student has a different taste and a desire of how they learn. And so, there’s no standard protocol. We work together to create the program that works best for them. Some students prefer a hands on they need to be, in a group environment. Other students like to have space to learn.

So, I tune into that about each different student and how they learn. It’s just an individual journey, so we do pay attention to that. Some students don’t come in necessarily because they’re interested in being a life coach or giving psychic readings. They understand that they just want to come in to develop their internal sense and knowing and connect with their sort of inner soul self. Many students who do that and more on the level of wanting to live a better life and assist them in their personal journey as opposed to necessarily providing that for someone else.

Shay Parker: If someone out there is seeking to develop their psychic abilities, should they go to your podcast? Let’s talk about your podcast, your weekly podcast.

Michelle Beltran: My podcast, The Intuitive Hour, that I started in February, it’s been met with great success, I’m just so thrilled to be able to say it’s had wonderful reviews. A lot of that does encompass my book, so if a person wants just to get some brief understanding of how I teach and some foundations for the intuitive development, that’s a fantastic start.

Shay Parker: I think that’s a great idea because, if someone out there is just dipping their toe in the water and they don’t know where to begin, you offer these free weekly training courses with tips and tools for their toolkit. And then if you couple that with the book, Take the Leap: What It Means To Be Psychic, I think that’s a great starting point for anybody out there.

Michelle Beltran: Absolutely. And just expanding on that, as a start point, the first step, when a person is beginning to develop, it’s so very important to create a foundation. To learn about energy and chakras and auras and pendulums and mediumship and what all of this is and how it works and just sit in development circles or spiritual circles for a good year learning and just, soaking in what’s out there in the metaphysical world.
