A Christmas Message
A Christmas Message
Two thousand years ago the man called Jesus came on earth for a remarkable period and mission. For Christians, Jesus was the ‘one and only’ Son of God. That’s understandable given a literal interpretation of biblical text. Other traditions have Exalted Ones proclaiming similar stature. Consider these excerpts from the New Testament and Bhagavad Gita:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:1–5
“I make and unmake this universe. Apart from Me, nothing exists, O Arjuna. All things, like the beads of a necklace, are strung together on the thread of my consciousness and are sustained by Me.” — Bhagavad Gita 7:6–7
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6
“Ah! Ye who into this ill world are come – fleeting and false – set your faith fast on Me! Fix heart and thought on Me…an undivided, unto My rest your spirits shall be guided.” — Bhagavad Gita 9:33–3
How could Jesus and Krishna make identical claims? Because they shared the same consciousness. Any who attains complete God–consciousness becomes fully awake in Spirit and will have transmuted their Son of Man mortal state into a Son of God divine one. How does this apply to you? We consider ourselves as frail, mortal beings because of our true nature, souls develop faulty self–awareness through body identification or ego. By right meditation our consciousness can expand beyond physical identification and reunite with Spirit, an attainment achieved by Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, and all Enlightened Ones. Christ Jesus strove mightily, like Krishna and Buddha, to help individuals recall their innate divinity –‘ye too are Gods’ – and harken back to Spirit through right living and the Sacred Union.
When Great Ones come on earth, a profound spiritual light floods the ether and re-appears on birthdays associated with their incarnation. At Christmas such divine energy manifests to correspond with the birth of Jesus. Uplifting holy vibrations are missed if our focus remains external on shopping or social festivities. To receive the true spiritual value of Christmas, we must seek to bring those sacred vibrations into our consciousness by attunement through meditation. Doing so allows us to commune with Christ and awaken more fully to our divine potential. This year dedicate more time to receiving the Christ Consciousness through prayer and meditation, then share that inner light with others during social festivities. Spiritual communion fosters a joy that no material gift can bestow, honors the purpose for which Christ Jesus came, and transmits quiet blessings that benefit all.
