4 Simple Tips to Help You Make the Right Decision

Divine Guidance’s Role in Making the Right Decision
Sometimes in life, you come to a fork in the road and you say to yourself should I go left or should I go right? How can we be sure if the choice we make is the right decision?
If you are faced with a fork in the road in your life today, here are four simple tips to help you make the right decision:
1. Pray about it.
Don’t just ask God to help you out, but really open your heart to divine guidance. Do this by taking three deep breaths, close your eyes, move into your heart and ask God “Which path would bring me closer to my highest good?”
Don’t worry about getting an answer right away. So often we push things away from us because we want it too badly. Breathe into the question and surrender to the answer. The right decision will be revealed to you if you ask the question.
2. Pay Attention.
There are usually signs all around us that are trying to tell us Yes! or No! but we miss them because we are too busy and can’t “hear” that still, small voice trying to direct us. Slow down. Take time out for yourself on a regular basis and get in touch with your inner wisdom so you can really become aware of the signs spirit is trying to give you that you keep missing.
One sign to pay attention to is goosebumps or chills. If you are thinking about something and you get chills it is definite confirmation from your angels that you are on the right path. If you are thinking about something and you get a headache or begin to not feel well that is also a sign that you are not on the right path.
Every time I get a headache I always check in to see if there is a decision I am trying to make about something and if there is I know the headache is a sign for me not to move forward. Oftentimes, our body and emotions are another way spirit/angels are trying to guide us to the right decision or in the right direction.
3. Passion.
Usually, the path you are supposed to take makes you light up like a Christmas tree, or explode with excitement like fireworks on the 4th of July. The path you should stay away from usually feels flat and unemotional.
Try talking with someone about the decision you need to make and ask them to pay attention to your voice intonation and facial expression. Sometimes the answer hides in your language and a second party can identify it easily. Just make sure the person can be objectionable and that they don’t have any personal stake in the outcome.
4. Visualize It.
A technique I use often with clients is visualization. I have them visualize down to the smallest detail each of the paths separately, like a movie running in their mind. They imagine what their life would be like if they chose path #1 paying close attention to how they feel.
Then I have them do the same with path #2. Then together we process the pros and cons of each path and, more times than not, it becomes quite evident which path is for their highest good.
Sometimes, knowing what you don’t want is just as important as knowing what you do want. The path you choose is simply to confirm what you do not want. In essence, everything is the right decision. Remember there are no wrong paths. Every path leads you to a deeper understanding of who you are and what you want in life.
And if all else fails, just make the right decision to follow your heart.
