Is Your Mind Spinning Out of Control? Do this Exercise.

Are you feeling overwhelmed?

Are you beating yourself up because you’re not doing what you said you would do for this year?

Are you overloaded at work so much, that you don’t have time for yourself?

Is your mind running, running, running with negative thoughts, which can so quickly become self-destructive?

If this sounds familiar or resonates with you right now – then ask yourself: “When was the last time I checked in with myself?” I bet it’s been quite a while! STOP right now and read the rest of this article!

Firstly, it’s important to realize that your soul has been trying to get your attention – possibly for a long time! As a psychic and a medium, I believe that most of the drama in our lives manifests when we don’t live by our inner-guidance. Your soul knows what it wants and what it needs. If you’re not in alignment with it, then your life can easily become off-balanced, and the outside world then manifests what’s happening on the inside.

Equally, there will be times in your life when your soul is screaming out to you. You know the times when the thoughts resound loudly in your head: “What am I doing?” or “I really should get a grip on my life!” or “I can’t keep living this way!” When you find yourself asking these questions, it’s usually during a particularly busy, emotional, or traumatic time in your life.

This is a big clue that your soul is trying to reach out to you. I call these moments: Soul Cry Outs. Your soul is yelling at you saying: “Hey! I am here, and you haven’t paid any attention to me at all lately. I can help!” At times like this, it will send clear signals to your psychic and physical senses depositing markers along the way, even in your dreams. Don’t ignore these, please! The power of the soul has no boundaries, and I even believe that meeting a stranger who somehow brings with them hidden messages is not an accident. Your inner-guidance can bring up a thought, an action, or even manifest a situation in your outside life to get you to STOP and think of what’s happening in front of you. Next time this happens, and you’re faced with a decision or choice, try asking yourself: “What would my soul want me to do?”

In today’s society, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day routine, adopting the same schedule every day, over and over, without ever stopping to think of anything else. We pull away from the source that infuses our soul, which only exacerbates the feeling of being constantly tired, drained or confused. It’s easy to become immersed in your work or taking a moment to care for someone who’s sick or deal with family issues. Sometimes though, you have to force yourself to check-in and re-connect with that source for its power, wisdom, and guidance. Don’t forget … you’re the driver. It’s up to you to put the brakes on or press the pause button and say: “I am listening and I am open.

John’s Lesson

Intuition flows on the breath. It’s also filled with the universal energy that enhances your overall well-being. For this quick exercise, just close your eyes and breathe deeply.

Relax, and let your awareness bring you back into your body. Follow your breath to the quiet still place within your heart. Take a few breaths into this area and continue to relax until you feel grounded.

Your body and mind will begin to grow quieter with each breath. Let your thoughts come in, just simply notice them, and them watch them go out again. Imagine in your mind’s eye that as you breathe in and out, pure universal energy is running up and down your spine. As this energy flows through your body, it’s clearing and spinning your energy centers (chakras) as your soul becomes infused with source energy.

Next, bring your awareness into your solar plexus area, and ask your intuition and your soul if there’s something it wants to tell you. Breathe and pause here for a moment, acknowledging whatever comes. As with so many of the exercises, I often recommend that you keep your soul journal nearby, so you can journal your thoughts, those soul flashes, and intuitive messages.

This exercise is also great if you have a decision or choice that needs to be done. Get a post-it note and create your own affirmation that’s in your mind right now, then stick the note on your computer or someplace where you’ll see it clearly every day. It will be a reminder to check-in with your intuition and your soul before you hastily move forward.
