3 Steps on the Path to Spiritual Awakening
If you are suffering from chronic pain or illness that doesn’t seem to have a physical cause, perhaps you should look at it through a spiritual lens.
Healing Crisis: 3 Steps on the Path to Spiritual Awakening
At times we are faced with a painful set of unusual physical symptoms and we land in our doctor’s office anxious. It feels that our mind-body-spirit is not our own. Invaded by environmental toxins, our Central Nervous System (CNS) is menaced and our doctors are puzzled to its ideology. We wear thin, wrestling with the dilemma of a healing crisis. We tell our health story and find no resolution. It re-traumatizes our psyche when there is no clear outcome. We become stuck in medical limbo, awaiting results and hoping for a diagnosis. The result is a let-down when there is no clear healing path forward. A vicious cycle begins, and we become stuck between the two worlds of modern and spiritual healing.
When we see a healing crisis through a spiritual lens, we can understand its purpose. This is an ancient art and over time has faced extinction. Modern medicine can’t identify the soul’s mission through an illness that indicates a spiritual calling. Often, a healing crisis indicates a more profound awakening of consciousness. There are three distinctive signs that are the stepping stones to guide us through the labyrinth of our healing journey.
Spiritual Awakening – Initiation, True Identity, and Acceptance
Doctors look at a set of symptoms like a constellation and interpret a diagnosis. Rarely do they consider the existential reasons of a debilitating illness. If elusive, it’s labeled a mystery illness that doesn’t respond to treatment and may be a sign of initiation into the spirit world. Symptoms may be sudden, due to trauma, accident, or connected to a childhood event. It is a psychic portal to a spiritual realm where healing is waiting for exploration. It may feel like a profound identity crisis and that we are on the cusp of madness.
The Initiation
Initiation is an experience achieved through visions, dreams or synchronicity. Psychiatrist Carl G. Jung spoke universal symbolism and the collective unconscious which holds archetypal imagery that connects us to a universal language of symbols. Jung’s archetypal method served as an intra-psychic instinct infused with images. These images are rooted in the psyche and connected to the universal mind. To realize our real potential, they will surface during a healing crisis. The initiation is a call from our spirit to learn who we are.
True Identity
When we are born into our family, there are expectations about who we should be and how we should act. While this is a positive reflection of our parents’ love, we are removed from our soul’s true path. When the soul is buried beneath our day to day lives, we miss the opportunity to learn the truth of who we are and who we are to become. The healing crisis can serve as communication to open our hearts and mind so that we can then learn about the soul’s mission or purpose throughout this lifetime.
Acceptance
The soul’s language is rich with a tapestry of symbolism infused with meaning. When we learn it, we can accept the spiritual knowledge that we need to serve our purpose. Below the surface of our logical and analytical minds is right hemispheric thought. A form of processing that is less understood by science. It is a form of mental processing connected to emotion. It serves to wake us to a more spiritual world that can identify our purpose.
Departed from our true selves, dependent on social norms, we live with a mistaken identity. The soul’s only option is to create a healing crisis so that it has a voice. If we listen to what is being said, we can free ourselves of the suffering that illness shares and become healthier versions of our best selves.
